OUR MISSIONSTEAM! These five elements are the future of our world! Our technology advancements, scientific revelations, and artistic discoveries are all dependent on the people who pursue careers related to STEAM. Our goal is to seek out young students and fuel their interest for these topics. We want to introduce STEAM in a fun, engaging way, while also giving them tools on how to explore further. STEAM has a negative stigma, but we want to show students that STEAM is incredibly fun to learn about and anyone can be involved, regardless of stereotypes.

WHAT IS PEMC?PEMC stands for Physics, Engineering, Mathematics, and Computer Science. These are the career fields where females are most drastically unrepresented. Females more often get involved with other branches of science, such as biology or psychology and art careers. While we think it is important to get females involved in all fields of STEAM, it is imperative that we focus on the fields where we need more females. Thus, almost all of our workshops focus on the PEMC field skills.
Part of our mission is to to encourage and convince girls that physics, engineering, math, and computer science are fascinating topics! We want to instill confidence in young girls so that once they reach the high school level, they will take the PEMC-related courses available to them. Courses such as AP Physics, PLTW (Project Lead the Way), and CAD (Computer Aided Design) are looking for female students to balance out the classroom. By engaging in these workshops, these young girls will be motivated to learn more about PEMC and what these fields have to offer.
